Our Lady of Guadalupe School

Dear OLG Family,

Welcome to Our Lady of Guadalupe School! Thank you for choosing us as your partners in your God given mission to educate your children. It is a privilege to have back our faithful families and to joyfully welcome new families.

On September 4th our Church will canonize a saint from our time, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, whose sanctity laid in her love for Jesus and from the strength given from this Love to go around the world consoling and loving the poorest of the poor. Her writings describe a spiritual dryness but a faithful and fervent prayer. For 50 years, she experienced God’s absence and couldn’t feel His tender love while the world saw her as another Jesus walking on earth. She was a beautiful example of humility, total trust in God, and a total dedication to the suffering Jesus. We ask her to pray for our school community and help us practice the virtues of humility, trust in God’s providence and faithful prayer in the midst of darkness and contradictions.

September comes with exiting opportunities for students to participate in our volleyball or flag football teams and our Children of Mary Club, Apostles of the Eucharist Club, and Vacation Group Bishop Silviano Carrillo, the hands-on science experience at Camp Keep, and the opportunities to strengthen our family life with the participation in Family Friday and the bilingual radio program: Rios de Agua Viva. We keep improving our facilities, education programs and the overall teaching and learning at OLG with the acquisition of updated technology, programs, and materials as well as necessary repairs.  We’ll start our cafeteria renovation project on September 26th and hope to make progress on our plans to move forward in our A/C Project for all classrooms. Thank you for playing an important part in making these dreams a reality for our children. Thank you for your unconditional support.

This year we are all invited to “trust the past to God’s mercy, the present to God’s love, and the future to God’s providence” St. Augustine. I share with you this beautiful prayer, “Teach us, good Lord, to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do your will. Amen” St. Ignatius of Loyola

With prayers and love in the Lord,
